Description
Our antique heavy weight teak wood Indian Rolling Pins date from the late nineteenth/early twentieth century – making it over 100 years old. This is a nice example and is carved from one single block of teak wood! The rolling pins were used throughout India to make chapatis, but these larger ones tend to originate from the west of the country. Each has its own pattern and patina, making every one unique. This example has a lovely dark patina that only comes with a century of use, and shorter turned handles! Whilst still very capable of performing their original task, today they are more often used as decorative pieces, movie props and talking points for kitchens and lounges. Dimensions: Length 46 x Width 12 x Height 12cm
