Antique Indian teak wood mirror, repurposed from an old haveli architectural door ventilation unit. These formed a key part of most doors in late nineteenth century India, and were mostly found stylistically throughout Gujarat State. They used to have glass in them that could be used to keep the light flow constant and to stop the hot air from coming in during the day & were made from teak, stone or iron. At night they were opened up to let the cold breeze pass inside the house. The glass has now been replaced with a mirror in this teak wood one, and these look great in any part of the home, from the bedroom, lounge to the bathroom! Whilst in good original condition, it comes with the odd blemish that you would expect of an antique of this age. Dimensions: Length 122 x Width 5 x Height 61cm
