Our Fairtrade munja and reclaimed sari fabric cylinder shaped hanging planters have been fashioned in India using reclaimed sari fabric from factory offcuts that has been gathered and washed, and then artfully crafted together with sustainably sourced munja – making these hanging planters a unique and environmentally friendly alternative to plastic. Munja is a tough Asiatic grass (saccharum munja) whose tenacious culms are used for ropes, twine, and baskets, with great natural water repellent abilities – just like reed roof thatching in the UK . Munja is sustainably sourced from across India. Each planter comes with a strong and watertight powder coated removable metal liner, so you can plant with confidence straight in to the planter, or allow pots to drain in to them when watered. Our planters can be safely used indoors or outside, and can be nested inside each other for easy storage when not in use.
