Description
This lovely antique Indian teak painted external door and frame has been salvaged from an old building in Gujarat State and saved for future generations! It dates from the early twentieth century – & we have 4 of them!! It has lots of the fantastic old paint as well as old iron fittings, with fabulous patina built up over centuries. It would look great in an old cottage garden or displayed in a modern house, either internally or leading in to a courtyard or perhaps a walled garden. The doors have 12 glass panes too. Our doors are also used for Retail Display and are very happy indoors or outside all year around. Many of our doors are used for movie props too – recreating a bygone India! These doors are saved from buildings in India which have fallen into a state of disrepair and are no longer repairable. This is clearly an old piece and there are some historic repairs and age related marks and wear and tear as you would expect. This is also a unique one of piece which was made by hand many years ago and has stunning hand carved detailing, combined with fabulous old paintwork, and a lovely patina which really shows its age and history. Please be sure to check all photos as these form part of the description. Dimensions: Length 307 x Width 25 x Height 521cm
