Description
This Antique Jaisalmer stone water channel has been hand carved from one block of the pinkish coloured stone that the Jaisalmer region of Rajasthan is known for. Normally these water channels are found in and around ancient Temples, as can be seen in the Lord Shiva Temple in Shivlingam. Milk & water were placed on these stone vessels, prior to prayer as an offering, with the drainage hole flowing to a larger container vessel as an outlet. Today these are repurposed in and around ponds in the UK to create flowing cascade water features. This is probably 150-200 years old and whilst in fine original condition, comes with the odd blemish that you would expect of an antique of this age. Dimensions: Length 46 x Width 70 x Height 9cm
