Our antique Indian carved stone pillar base candle holder is totally unique and dates from the eighteenth century. We have added a rustic iron candle holder to it to make it functional. It is intricately carved from one piece of solid stone. Our bases are salvaged from old buildings in Gujarat State and Rajasthan and saved for future generations! In a previous life they would have supported the tops and bottoms of teak columns that stood outside grand houses in eighteenth and nineteenth century India. This example has beautiful ornate hand carvings all over it. They look great as a centre piece of the side board, console table, fire hearth or the kitchen table. They are also lovely outside for BBQs. It would be perfect for a period property or even to add character to a new style home. These column bases are saved from buildings in India which have fallen into a state of disrepair and are no longer rescuable. This is clearly an old piece and there are some historic repairs and age related marks and wear and tear as you would expect. Please be sure to check all photos as these form part of the description.
